New Hire and Open Enrollment Management for a Remote Workforce
Wondering how you’re going to manage new hire elections or run open enrollment now that your employees are working remotely? BCI may have a solution to this open enrollment and ongoing new hire enrollment dilemma. Gen4 Systems!
Gen4 is the employee communications and benefits administration tool we make available to suitable clients at no cost. Suitable clients include those with fewer than 125 employees with a relatively simple benefit class structure. We can quickly (in about seven days from the time we get all the required information) get a group ready for open enrollment. All we need from you is a relatively basic employee census (name, email address, benefit class (if company utilizes more than one), social security number, date of hire, date of birth and salary (if you’re offering disability coverage or a life insurance benefit tied to salary) and your 2020 renewal plan decisions and employer contribution amounts.
If you are making limited changes to your benefit offerings at your upcoming open enrollment, you even have the option of running a “passive enrollment” where each employee is automatically re-enrolled in their current benefits (or those decided to be most similar) unless they take action to log in and change their elections. This could be a powerful tool for a population experiencing an open enrollment event over the next eight weeks if the employer is making relatively minor (or no) changes to the benefits being offered or the cost sharing to employees.
Although we are more than capable of implementing a ben admin tool at open enrollment, we encourage groups to consider making the shift to an online enrollment platform outside of open enrollment, if possible. This allows for a more relaxed timeline for the build and implementation and also provides HR Users with the opportunity to adjust to the new system before the entire employee population is asked to log in and make their elections.
In less than a year, we have fundamentally changed the way more than 2000 employees at more than 60 groups make and manage their employer-sponsored and voluntary enrollments. We would love to provide you and your employees with access to these exciting tools as well.
So, if your plans renew anytime from May 1, 2020 onward and you think you can provide us with the required information in a timely manner, please reach out to your account management team to arrange for a demonstration.
